How the GrantSnap Chrome extension fills funder forms

The GrantSnap Chrome extension is the apply surface. The catalog and the dashboard live on the website. The extension is what meets a real funder form. Other browsers are not supported yet.
If you only remember one rule: GrantSnap fills fields. It does not submit the application.
Install and sign in
Install from the Chrome Web Store, then sign in with the same GrantSnap account you use on the dashboard. The extension needs that account because the drafts come from the profile and documents stored on GrantSnap servers. A fresh install with an empty profile will still “work” in the sense that fields get text. The text will be generic.
What the extension reads
On a funder page it looks at the visible form: labels, questions, placeholders, and the fields next to them. It does not scrape your Gmail, your other tabs, or the rest of Chrome. It sends those questions to your GrantSnap account so they can be matched to the profile.
Forms that are images, canvas widgets, or behind a login the extension cannot see will not fill well. If a site loads questions only after a long JavaScript wizard, wait until the questions are actually on the page before you run fill.
What gets written
Drafts are written into the fields the extension mapped. Short answers, text areas, and common selects are the happy path. File uploads, signatures, payments, and CAPTCHAs stay yours. If a field looks wrong, overwrite it. The funder will see what is in the box when you click their button, not what we meant to draft.
The review pass we expect you to do
Read every field, not just the ones that look empty. Check legal name, registration number, dates, and budget figures against source documents. Tone-check anything that sounds like a template. Then submit with the funder’s control.
If you skip that pass, you are sending our draft as if it were your filing. We designed the product so that is a choice you make, not a default we hide.
When fill fails
Unusual widgets, shadow DOM, and multi-step forms that destroy the DOM between steps are the usual causes. Reload the step, run fill again, or paste from the dashboard draft. Email RealStartup911@gmail.com with the funder URL and a screenshot if a common form keeps failing — that is a product bug, not your fault.
